How to use your stickers — and how to move WhatsApp stickers to iMessage
Every sticker below has a transparent background, so it looks right in any chat app. The only tricky part is that each app has its own way of accepting stickers — here is the short version for each one.
First: static or animated?
A task can give you two sets of 9 stickers — a still set (Static stickers) and a moving set (Animated stickers). They do NOT behave the same when you add them to an app, so read this first.
- Static set: save them to your album and add them inside the app — this works just about everywhere (see each app below).
- Animated set: Telegram takes them directly. For WhatsApp the clean route is the “WhatsApp pack” file (see WhatsApp below).
- Why: from the album, an animated GIF picks up a white edge around the square, and an animated WebP file is treated as a still image. Neither is something we can fix — those are the app's limits.
Can you move WhatsApp stickers to iMessage?
Short answer: not directly. A WhatsApp pack is a .wastickers file (a bundle of WebP images), while iMessage has no pack format at all — it uses sticker apps from the App Store, or stickers you lift out of a photo in Messages. So there is no one-tap “import”. These are the routes that work.
- Route 1 — Unpack it with a desktop tool. If you still have the original .wastickers file (usually saved by whichever app built the pack), a converter can unpack it and export the images, animated ones included. It is the closest thing to a real conversion, but it needs a computer and some patience.
- Route 2 — Save the images to Photos, then add them in Messages. Press and hold the subject in a photo and choose “Add Sticker”; it stays in your sticker drawer (tap “+”, then Stickers) and syncs with iCloud.
- Route 3 — Re-make the set from one photo. WhatsApp does not let you export a pack, so if the original images are gone, re-making is usually faster than fighting the format: one clear photo becomes a matching set of nine.
- Where to look: the app-by-app sections further down are the steps we tested ourselves.
About motion: a sticker made from a still photo is a still sticker. iOS 17 and later can also make animated “Live Stickers” from a Live Photo — but an animated sticker here is a WebP file, not a Live Photo, so there is no user-level way to carry the motion across. For motion, Telegram takes an animated pack directly.
- Can I import a WhatsApp sticker pack into iMessage directly?
- No. The two apps use different formats, so you have to convert the images first (Route 1) or re-make the set (Route 3).
- Will my animated stickers still move in iMessage?
- Not through the Photos route — those stickers are still images. iMessage animates only stickers that come from a sticker app or a Live Photo. Telegram takes animated packs directly.
- I don't have the original images any more. What can I do?
- Take one clear photo and generate a matching set of nine (that is what we do), or screenshot each sticker from the app — screenshots keep the look but lose the transparent background and the motion.
Get them onto your phone first
The shortest path for most apps: save the 9 stickers to your album, then add them in the app itself.
- Tap “Save to Photos” (iPhone) or “Save all 9 to Photos” (Android). On Android, Chrome asks once whether it may download several files — tap Allow.
- The stickers land in Photos / your gallery. The files themselves keep their transparent background.
- Open the app you use and add them from the album — see the per-app steps below.
This route is for the still set. For the moving set, see the first section.
iPhone / iPad — iMessage
- Save the stickers to Photos first.
- Open Messages, then long-press a sticker in a photo: press and hold the subject and choose “Add Sticker”.
- It stays in your sticker drawer (tap “+”, then Stickers) and syncs with iCloud — you can send it any time, no need to go back to Photos.
Apple does not let a website install a whole sticker pack on iOS — only apps from the App Store can do that. This is the shortest legal path.
WhatsApp
WhatsApp can only import a whole pack, and it cannot open our pack file by itself — a free sticker app hands it over for you.
- Tap “WhatsApp pack (9)” on Jolliment. You get one file ending in .wastickers — a ready-made pack of all 9.
- Install a sticker app first: Sticker Maker on Android (free; it shows ads). On iPhone use any sticker app from the App Store.
- Open the .wastickers file with that app (on iPhone: Files → Downloads → share it to the app).
- Tap “Add to WhatsApp” — all 9 stickers appear in your WhatsApp sticker tray at once.
The album route also works for the still set: newer WhatsApp versions can make a sticker from a photo and group them into a pack. For the animated set, use the pack file — it is the only route that keeps both the movement and clean edges.
Telegram
Telegram is the only app where a website can install the whole pack for you — the still set and the animated set both.
- Tap “Add to Telegram” on Jolliment. Telegram opens on our bot — first time it is an empty chat.
- Tap the button at the bottom of that chat (START, sometimes shown as “RESTART”). That is Telegram's own rule for a bot you have never talked to — a website cannot press it for you.
- The bot answers within a few seconds (“Building your sticker pack…”), then replies with a t.me/addstickers link — tap it and all 9 stickers are added at once. Share that link with friends and they get the same pack.
The animated set is installed the same way; Telegram stores it as a video sticker pack. If Telegram is busy it may take a minute — the bot keeps retrying and sends the link when it succeeds.
WeChat
- Save the stickers to your album first.
- In WeChat open any chat → the emoji panel → the sticker tab → “Add sticker” and pick them from your album.
- You can pick several at once in this step.
Instagram / Messenger
- Save the stickers to your album first.
- In Instagram you can cut a sticker out of a photo (Stories or a DM) — pick your sticker and Instagram lifts the subject for you.
- In Messenger you can send them as pictures, or turn a photo into a sticker in the sticker tray.
Neither app lets a website install a whole pack — the album is the way in.
Discord
- Tap “Discord” on Jolliment to get 320×320 PNG files — for the animated set these are animated PNGs (APNG).
- You need “Manage Expressions” (older clients: “Manage Emojis and Stickers”) on the server.
- On a computer: Server Settings → Expressions/Stickers → Upload Sticker, then pick the files.
This is really a desktop task — mobile apps usually cannot upload server stickers.
The .zip download
- Static set: unzip it and you get 9 transparent PNGs named after their captions, plus cover.png and HOW-TO-USE.txt.
- Animated set: the ZIP has two folders — gif/ (opens in almost any app) and webm/ (only for Telegram video stickers) — plus cover.png and HOW-TO-USE.txt.
- Use it anywhere you can send a picture, or keep it as a backup of your stickers.
